Privacy policy

Clovi is a skincare and beauty ingredient app made by RB Innovates ("we"). This policy covers the Clovi app and getclovi.com. The short version: no ads, no selling your data, no tracking across other apps or sites. We only keep what Clovi needs to work.
What we collect
- Waitlist (website): your email address, the date you joined, and whether you asked for Clovi news.
- Account: to save your profile you sign in with Apple, Google or an email code. We receive your email address and a sign-in ID. With Apple you can hide your real email.
- Skin profile: skin type, concerns, ingredients you avoid or look for, your age range, and, only if you choose to tell us, whether you're pregnant. This can be sensitive, so it is used only to work out your Skin Match and is never shared or used for marketing.
- Your Clovi activity: products you scan, your shelf, routine and reviews you write.
- Label photos: if you snap a product's label or front, the photo is used to read the product name and ingredients. We keep the photo and the list we read from it to improve Clovi's product database, and link it to your account so you can earn badges for helping.
- Purchases: Clovi Plus is sold through Apple or Google. We see your subscription status, never your card details.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes we receive technical details (device model, app version, error) without your name, email or profile.
How we use it
- To score products for your skin, save your shelf and routine, and sync them across your devices.
- To email you about Clovi when you've asked us to, such as the launch email or news you opted into.
- To fix bugs and keep Clovi working.
We don't sell or rent your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your data to train AI models.
Who helps us run Clovi
We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our behalf:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and the waitlist.
- Railway and MongoDB Atlas: Clovi's servers and database (United States).
- Apple and Google: sign-in and in-app purchases.
- RevenueCat: subscription status.
- OpenAI: reading text from label photos you choose to send. Photos are sent without your account details.
- Sentry: crash reports.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Waitlist emails are deleted once Clovi has launched and we've sent the launch email, unless you asked for news. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account any time in the app (Profile, Settings, Delete account). This deletes your profile, shelf, routine and scan history.
- Leave the waitlist or ask for a copy, correction or deletion of your data by emailing hello@getclovi.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have more rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your data protection authority. We'll honour them.
Children
Clovi is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
