Cellulose Gum

What it does

Made from plant cellulose. It thickens toothpaste and creams and keeps them smooth.

Also used in food (E 466). EU food scientists (EFSA) reviewed it in 2018 and found no safety concern at the levels used.

United States: No FDA limit. The FDA doesn't approve cosmetic ingredients before sale. Source
